  1. “Shadows of the Mind”…Is a spectacular novel in which a young girl, Kim Tucker. Kim discusses her teenage rape and teen-pregnancy. She reveals her life as the youngest sibling of twelve. The novel is focused around the family members and deals with psychological problems. The many trials and tribulations she endured; such as her schizophrenia sister and her alcoholic mother. “Shadows of the Mind” is a Novel in relation to Kim’s family-life and childhood. She experience three generations by the time she was nineteen years old. The time line is from the early 1950s to the early 1980. Watching her siblings and learning through their life experiences. She discusses a lot of what she learned and experienced in "Shadows of the Mind". Many people come from small families and do not know the boundaries of having a large family. She often felt her life as an advantage having the heads-up on many of life issues… experiencing them often through her siblings’ successes and failures. Only to learn later in life that you can’t cheat life; you have to learn on your own! Shadows of the Mind
